The Saline County Commission heard the last update about absentee voting numbers before next week’s election during its meeting on Thursday, November 1.
Clerk Debbie Russell said just over 70 absentee voting request have been made in just a couple of days.
Russell also pointed out her office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 3, to accommodate any other absentee voters. If you need special accommodations- such as needing to be met outside to cast your ballot curbside, they can do that, as well.
Absentee voting also will be accepted during regular business hours in her office- or your county clerk’s office- through 5 p.m. on Monday, November 5. Registered voters go to the polls to cast their ballots on election day on Tuesday, November 6. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In other business, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. said an agreement with a water district regarding the I-70 Junction is close to being finished. Once the agreement goes into effect, the county will start to receive the bonding for the project.
