Two Sedalia residents face drug charges after the search of a vehicle and a bag one of them was in possession of allegedly revealed them to be in possession of marijuana on October 31.
According to a probable-cause statement, one of the subjects in the vehicle- 19-year-old Shamar Pinkett- ran from the scene in possession of a brown bag. he was apprehended after a short pursuit, and inside the bag, authorities say they found about 250 grams of marijuana. They also say they found a zippered pouch in the vehicle, which contained marijuana and a “large bundle of cash.”
According to online court documents, the driver- 18-year-old Trenton Willis and Pinkett each has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid. Pinkett also is facing a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest for a Felony. Willis’ bond has been set at $25,000 and Pinkett’s bond at $35,000 cash or surety.
Pinkett appeared in court via video in custody and was arraigned on Friday, November 2. His cause has been continued for another hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6. Willis’ initial appearance at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
