A Marshall teen, who faces sex-related felonies involving a juvenile in two alleged incidents, had a court date rescheduled for one of the cases to be held this week in Saline County.
According to a probable-cause statement, on October 10, a 13-year-old female victim told authorities about an unwanted sexual encounter with 19-year-old Chase Matthew Watts. Watts reportedly admitted to authorities about the sexual encounter.
According to online court documents, Watts has been charged with an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Rape or Attempted Statutory Rape in the First Degree- with a Person Less Than 14 Years of Age. Bond has been set at $100,000 cash or surety.
Watts appeared via video in custody and entered a plea of not guilty on October 17, and his cause was continued for a case-hearing on November 21. On October 31, the court date was canceled and a motion hearing was scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, at Saline County Circuit Court.
Also, Watts is facing three counts of a sex-related felony in a separate case for the alleged inappropriate touching of a 5-year-old victim in Saline County. A case-hearing in this matter has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21.
