As the result of the alleged findings of authorities upon the execution of a search warrant at a residence on November 1, a Sedalia resident has been charged with multiple felonies.
Authorities say they found Nathan Merdick Paxton Smith to be in possession of approximately 40 grams of methamphetamine and a semiautomatic pistol that later was found to have been converted to fully automatic. Also located on the premises was an 18-month-old child.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Smith has been charged with a Class C Felony for Trafficking Drugs in the Second Degree; a Class D Felony for Endangering the Welfare of a Child Involving Drugs in the First Degree- First Offense; and a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety.
Smith’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
