Several races were contested in countywide races for positions in county government in the KMMO listening area during the election on Tuesday, November 6.
According to the unofficial results from the county clerks:
In Saline County: Clerk of the Circuit Court- Democrat Becky Tebbenkamp Uhlich defeated Republican Karlin Breshears 4,127 to 3,589; Recorder of Deeds- Democrat Jamie Franklin Nichols defeated Republican James Samson 4,225 to 3,467; and Republican Tim Thompson defeated incumbent Democrat Don Stouffer 4,501 to 3,264 for prosecuting attorney.
In Chariton County: Presiding Commissioner- Republican Evan Emmerich defeated Tony McCollum 1,982 to 1,338; and there were 142 write-in votes for Prosecuting Attorney, as no candidate filed for the position.
In Carroll County, Republican Stan Falke defeated Cheryl Sanders 2,626 to 1,066 for presiding commissioner.
In Cooper County, for Associate Circuit Judge- Republican Keith Bail defeated Charissa Mayes 5,454 to 1,461.
And in Howard County- for Circuit Judge- Circuit 14- Democrat Scott Hayes defeated Republican Gillis Leonard 2,492 to 1,609; for Presiding Commissioner- Republican Jeremiah Johnmeyer defeated Democrat Sam Stroupe 2,147 to 2,002; for County Clerk- Republican Shelly Howell defeated Democrat Ruthie Espenscheid 2,254 to 1,422, and Independent Andel Huber received 427 votes.
The results are not official. They are scheduled to be checked out and become official last this week.
