The City of Sedalia is currently accepting entries from residents for the 38th Annual Outdoor Christmas Lighting Contest.
According to a news release, the two different judging categories includes residences and businesses which are within the Sedalia city limits. Also, anyone who has won a cash prize within the last three years is excluded from this year’s contest, as well as city employees.
The judges will consider a display’s lighting; eye appeal; originality; and overall appeal. Also, the complete display needs to remain in place throughout the Christmas holiday season.
Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place finishers in each category. Prize money will be $100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.
The deadline for entering is at noon on Monday, December 10, with the judging to take place beginning after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12.
