The identity of the victim still has not been released by authorities, but KMMO News has some more information involving an incident in which a hunter died in a deer-stand fire in Carroll County over the weekend.
According to information provided by the Missouri Department of Public Safety, a 71-year-old man died early Saturday after a fire in a deer stand a little more than a mile west of Carrollton. The man was in an enclosed deer stand about four feet off the ground. On the cold morning, the victim reportedly was using a camping-style propane heater, which is listed as the cause of the fire.
The fire is being considered accidental.
The incident was investigated by the State Fire Marshal.
