A Slater man has been charged with felonies in Saline County after authorities tracked down reported stolen property which was posted online for sale earlier this year.
A probable cause statement says a victim reported their residence in Saline County was broken into and over $18,000 in property, including two compound bows and a professional digital camera, was stolen on October 5.
During the investigation, Saline County deputies received information that one of the stolen compound bows was posted for sale online by a Macon resident on October 23. Deputies contacted the Macon Police Department who spoke with the resident. The resident stated he purchased both bows from 38-year-old Lance Grimshaw. On November 14, deputies conducted an undercover operation to meet up with Grimshaw as he allegedly posted the stolen camera for sale online. Deputies contacted Grimshaw who was arrested after a brief struggle. Reportedly, Grimshaw told authorities he purchased the property from another individual, but did not know a last name, a place of residence or other contact information.
Online court documents say Grimshaw has been charged with a Class D Felony for Receiving Stolen Property and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest for a Felony. Bond has been set $5,000 cash only.
Grimshaw’s arraignment hearing is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 16, at Saline County Circuit Court.
