A Raytown resident has been charged with a felony for allegedly stealing several items from a construction site in Sweet Springs.
According to a probable-cause statement, on October 21, a person from the construction site reported to authorities that a power drill, a couple of power saws, some batteries and a couple of ladders had been stolen between 4:15 p.m. on October 20 and 9 a.m. on October 21. The person who reported the theft later saw a ladder he recognized and could identify as belonging to him due to a stain on it as being up for sale on a Facebook Marketplace site on October 29. Authorities also investigated and learned that several of the items that reportedly were taken from the site had been pawned at a store in Independence; and they allegedly were pawned by Jeremy Scott Futscher.
Online court documents say Futscher has been charged with a Class D Felony for Receiving Stolen Property. Bond has been fixed at $10,000 cash or surety.
Futscher’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
