A Concordia man has been charged with a felony for allegedly causing damage at a hospital recently in Saline County.
A probable-cause statement says Sweet Springs Police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at I-70 Community Hospital at 12:43 a.m. on Monday, December 3.
Officers spoke with hospital staff and arrested 42-year-old Michael Schofield for alleged property damage. Schofield reportedly broke a door frame in an ER exam room and damaged an over head lamp, as well as pulled all the wires and bend a connector to a blood pressure monitor. The estimated total value of damages was calculated at $18,500. The statement did not specify a reason why Schofield caused the damages, but said he has a criminal history of property damage.
Online court documents say Schofield has been charged with a Class E Felony for First-Degree Property Damage with bond set at $15,000 cash only.
Schofield’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
