The Saline County Commission was informed on a new text-alert system which will be implemented soon during its meeting on Thursday, December 6.
Saline County Emergency Management Agency Director Tony Day said area residents can sign up for free to receive text messages alerts during emergency situations soon.

Day goes over some of the options available for the alert system, which is being conducted by RAVE Mobile Alert company.

Once the alert system goes live on Friday, December 7, Day says residents can find a link to sign up on the county’s website at www.salinecoutymo.org. Day added once the alert system becomes more popular, residents will be able to find the sign up website by using search engines such as Google.
