A Kansas City woman has been charged with felonies after authorities reportedly found her fingerprints on a soda bottle left at the scene of a burglary earlier this year in Lafayette County.
A probable-cause statement says Lafayette County deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 4300 block of Golden Belt Road in Odessa on June 11. Deputies spoke with the victim who stated an unknown vehicle left the residence as he was arriving at the location. The victim reportedly said an estimated total value of $5,900 worth of items was missing from the residence which included various power tools, a computer and a TV. The victim said the house was unsecured due to weather damage the home sustained.
During the investigation, a soda bottle reportedly found at the scene had fingerprints which belonged to 37-year-old Priscilla Hertzler.
Online court documents say Hertzler has been charged with two Class D Felonies for Second-Degree Burglary and Stealing of $750 or More. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety.
Hertzler is scheduled to appear for an arraignment hearing at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 17, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
