With heavy hearts of its members, the Saline County Commission held its regulary-scheduled open-session meeting on Tuesday, December 11.
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. began the meeting with a somber announcement.

Clerk Debbie Russell said Clemens, who was elected as Northern Commissioner in November 2016, brought a lot of good things to the table and made a good mix on the commission.
Guthrey said the commissioners always worked together.

Treasurer Marty Smith said Clemens was a friend who will be greatly missed and offered his condolences to the family.
Information on Clemens’ services will be announced at a later time.
