A Sedalia woman has been charged with a felony for allegedly concealing lighters in a puzzle box and delivering it to the Pettis County Jail on Sunday, December 9.
A probable-cause statement says 50-year-old Carol Wolfe reportedly was seen on video surveillance to set a puzzle box on a shelf on the lobby side of the central control window in the jail facility. Correction officers reportedly retrieved the box, dumped out the puzzle pieces and noticed the bottom of the box could be removed. Officers reportedly found chewing and smoking tobacco, as well as two lighters concealed within the box. Reportedly, the lighters are considered dangerous in a controlled environment such as a jail facility.
Online court documents say Wolfe has been charged with a Class B Felony for Delivery of a Weapon at a County Jail Facility and a misdemeanor for delivery of prohibited items at a jail facility. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Wolfe’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
