KCP&L customers reportedly are receiving calls from scammers demanding payments and threatening to disconnect services.
According to a news release, KCP&L is alerting its customers of a recent phone scam where the caller claims to work for the company and asks for prepaid cards as payment. Several customers have reported receiving suspicious phone calls either from a person or prerecorded message. The scammers reportedly are very convincing as they can manipulate the caller ID and sound like they work for KCP&L.
