A La Monte man, who was a former teacher in the Marshall Public School District, has been charged with a sex-related felony for an incident last month in Saline County.
A probable-cause statement says the Marshall Police Department spoke with the mother of the female victim who reported her daughter was touched inappropriately by 55-year-old Tommy Joe Hotsenpiller on the night of November 30.
During a forensic interview, the victim said the incident occurred at Hotsenpiller’s vehicle in the parking lot of the high school. Hotsenpiller reportedly was terminated by the district in October 2018 and was trespassing during the incident on November 30.
Online court documents say Hotsenpiller has been charged with a Class D Felony for Statutory Sodomy in the Second Degree and a misdemeanor for trespassing. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Hotsenpiller’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit.
