A North Carolina man who was charged with felonies after authorities found marijuana in the vehicle he was driving following a traffic stop on February 16 in Saline County has been sentenced to state prison.
According to a probable-cause statement, the traffic stop was on I-70, near Marshall Junction, and during their probable-cause search of the vehicle, authorities found three commercially-produced popcorn bags of marijuana- weighing approximately three pounds- and three packages of THC-infused food products.
Online court documents say Carlos J. Collier, of Winston-Salem, was charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
On December 20, 33-year-old Collier pleaded guilty as charged and was sentenced to spend two years in the state’s department of corrections.
