A Sedalia man has a warrant issued and has been charged with a felony for allegedly stealing antique furniture last month in Pettis County.
A probable cause statement says Sedalia Police officers responded to a report of a theft at an apartment in the 1000 block of West 3rd Street on November 21. Officers spoke with the victim who stated 30-year-old Robert Durrett reportedly was delinquent in monthly payments for rent and was moving out over the previous days. The victim also said Durrett was told the antique furniture in the apartment was not his.
During the investigation, witnesses stated they saw Durrett and another male moving the furniture from the apartment. The total estimated value of the alleged stolen furniture was calculated at $3,100.
Online court documents say Durrett has been charged with a Class D Felony for Stealing of $750 or More. Bond has not yet been set.
Durrett’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
