A Marshall man has been arrested and formally charged in connection with a shooting incident which left one dead on Saturday, December 29, in Marshall.
According to a news release from the Marshall Police Department, at approximately 6:14 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in progress on Viking Lane.
Upon arrival, 31-year-old Joshua Charles Smith, of Marshall, was found to have sustained injuries from an apparent gunshot wound, was transported by ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment, and later was pronounced deceased.
According to an updated release from the police department, at approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, a warrant was issued in the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Saline County and 55-year-old James Scott Miller (left) has been charged with a Class A Felony for Second-Degree Murder. Bond has been set at $500,000 cash only. Miller currently is being held at the Saline County Jail.
