A Sedalia man has been charged with felonies for allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine at his residence in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says Pettis County deputies responded to a report of a possible meth lab at a residence in the 500 block of East 36th Street in Sedalia on December 29, 2018.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party who stated they noticed a strange odor and possible meth manufacturing materials in a garage on the property. After receiving permission to check the property, deputies noticed containers of various liquids commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine within the garage. One container reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine which weighed approximately 90 grams.
Online court documents say 28-year-old Robert Bemiss has been charged with a Class B Felony for Trafficking Drugs or Attempt in the First Degree and a Class E Felony for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.
Bemiss was formally arraigned on Wednesday, January 2, and his cause was continued for a case hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
