After serving as Marshall Parks and Recreation Superintendent for nearly a decade and a half, Jeff Stubblefield resigned to
take a similar position in Maryville at the beginning of September.
On November 13, Chad Unterreiner- a Perryville native and graduate of Southeast Missouri State and William Woods for his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, respectively- who has spent the last two years being the Recreation Supervisor and Facilities Manager in Cape Girardeau- accepted an offer from the Marshall Park Board to be Stubblefield’s successor.
Unterreiner is excited about following in Stubblefield’s footsteps.
Unterreiner says not many parks systems turn a profit, but opportunities for growth are here.
Unterreiner says the parks department just finished up a 10-year plan, and he will begin by helping put together the next five-year plan.
Unterreiner finishes up his employment in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, January 5. He will begin his position in Marshall on Monday, January 7. He is scheduled to be introduced to the Marshall community during the city council meeting later that night.
