A Sedalia man faces a felony charge for an alleged domestic assault incident earlier this week in Pettis County.
According to a probable-cause statement, Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance at an apartment in the 1500 block of South Ohio Avenue on Wednesday, January 2.
Upon arrival, officers were told by a male voice that they did not have to open the door for the police. Eventually, a female opened the door and was noticed to be actively bleeding from a laceration near her right eye, as well as had redness and swelling on the right side of her face. The female reportedly told the officers she was in an argument with 27-year-old William Taylor. During questioning, the female stated she sustained the injures by slipping on the wet kitchen floor. Taylor was noticed to have blood on his face, but had no apparent injures. Taylor reportedly was on out on bond for a prior domestic assault case from September 2018.
Online court documents say Taylor has been charged with a Class E Felony for Third-Degree Domestic Assault with bond set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Taylor’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
