Saline County Northern District Commissioner Richard Clemens died in early December, and his seat has sat vacant since then. His successor has been named.
According to Saline County Clerk Debbie Russell, she received a call from a representative from Governor Mike Parson’s office on Wednesday, January 2, and Stephanie Gooden has been chosen to finish out Clemens’ unexpired term, which runs through December 31, 2020.
Russell said Gooden’s first day is Friday, January 4, but she will not be officially sworn in until the open session meeting of the commission on Tuesday, January 8.
