John Henry Deatherage, age 56, a lifelong resident of Concordia, died Friday, January 4, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, where visitation begins at 9 a.m. Burial, with military rites, will follow at the Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville.
Memorials may be made to family choice.
In addition to his mother, Ruth, of Concordia; John is survived by one brother, Alan Deatherage and wife, Nancy, of Concordia; two sisters, Mrs. Dennis L. (Patricia) Meyer, of Emma, and Mrs. Cliff (Donna) Caton, of Napoleon; sister-in-law, Donna Deatherage, of Blue Springs; four stepbrothers, Tony Deatherage and wife, Tammy, of Concordia, Troy Deatherage, of Belton, Trent Deatherage, of Pleasant Hill, and Randall Harp and wife, Rosa, of Naples, FL; a stepsister, Mrs. Jeff (Tina) Behel, of Georgia; his close friend, Judy Latty, and her daughter, Sarah, of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father, James Reed Deatherage; two brothers, Michael Reed Deatherage and Dennis Scott Deatherage; and his stepfather, Maurice Deatherage.
