A Triplett man who is facing felony charges for allegedly entering a home through a window and sexually assaulting a juvenile on August 9, 2018, is due in court this week.
According to a probable-cause statement, Alan Ostermann is alleged to have entered a residence in the 14600 block of Route M in Chariton County and committed the sexual assault.
According to online court documents, Ostermann has been charged with a Class B Felony for Burglary in the First Degree; a Class D Felony for Statutory Rape in the Second Degree; a Class E Felony for Child Molestation in the Fourth Degree- a Child Less Than 17 Years Old and the Offender Greater Than Four Years Older; and a sex-related misdemeanor.
Ostermann, who is now 34, entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment on August 14. An extension was granted on October 18 so a psychiatric exam of Ostermann could be conducted. He is due to appear for another hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, at Chariton County Circuit Court.
