A Sedalia man accused of a sex-related felony involving a juvenile more than a year ago entered a plea during a hearing on Monday, January 7, in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says on June 14, 2017, a 13-year-old juvenile told a Child Safe investigator that Carlos Brown had kissed and touched her inappropriately when she was between the ages of 7 and 9.
According to online court documents, 49-year-old Brown pleaded guilty to a charge of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy in the First Degree-Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Person Less than 14 Years of Age.
Court documents also say Brown, who originally had entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment hearing on September 5, 2017, has been sentenced to spend 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, with the sentence to run concurrent with any other sentence.
