A Sedalia man has been charged with felonies for an alleged domestic assault incident earlier this month in Pettis County.
A probable cause statement says Sedalia Police officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 600 block of South Montgomery Avenue on January 7.
Officers first spoke with a witness who reported the incident, and the witness stated the victim exited her residence while screaming that she had been allegedly attacked by 32-year-old William Howe. The witness also stated he saw Howe flee the scene.
The victim stated she got into a verbal argument with Howe and attempted to call a family member, but allegedly was struck in the mouth by Howe while he took her phone away. Howe reportedly then grabbed the victim by the throat and began to choke her. The victim was noticed to have redness on the front part of her neck and lacerations on her upper and lower lip.
Online court documents say Howe has been charged with a Class B Felony for Second-Degree Robbery and a Class D Felony for Second-Degree Domestic Assault. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Howe’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
