Virgil C. Scott, age 91, of Marshall, died Monday, January 14, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 18, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Burial will follow at Heath Creek Cemetery in rural Nelson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra.

In addition to his wife, Wanda; he is survived by four children: Albert Scott of Dixon, TN, Janice Cartee of Boonville, Sandra Gerlt (Jesse) of Nelson, and David Scott (Brenda) of Boonville; three stepchildren: Darrell Stark of Fayette, Beverly Stark of Platte City, and Jimmy Stark (Christina Roberts) of Cleveland, TX; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four brothers: Bobby Scott of Warsaw; Howard Scott of Des Moines, IA, Jack Scott of Norman, OK, and Charles Scott of Paris Landing, TN; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Martha; his first wife, Mary; a son-in-law, Roger Cartee; one great-granddaughter; four brothers: Vernon Scott, William Clarence Scott, Denver Don Scott, and Harold Wray Scott; and three sisters: Christeen Jackson, Fern Cochran, and Peggy Scott in infancy.
