An area youth reportedly was struck by a vehicle on Saturday, January 19, in Saline County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle, driven by 61-year-old Timothy Samson, of Malta Bend, was traveling northbound and struck a 5-year-old boy, of Sweet Springs.
The child reportedly was transported by Saline County ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for treatment of moderate injuries. Samson reportedly was not injured.
The accident happened just after 12 p.m. on Gladiola Avenue, north of 150th Trail.
