Two Concordia residents sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident on an ice-covered roadway in Lafayette County on Wednesday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol say the accident occurred as the driver of a westbound vehicle, 76-year-old Steve Bishop, reportedly lost control due to ice on the roadway, and the vehicle slid off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
Bishop and a passenger, 62-year-old Carol Bishop, were transported by E.M.S to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment of injuries.
The accident happened at about 9 a.m. at the 41.2 mile marker on I-70.
