A Sedalia man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly abusing his son.
A probable-cause statement says the juvenile told authorities that on January 19, 41-year-old Travis Edgar had attacked him with a broom, breaking it across his legs. The 15-year-old also said Edgar used a board and an iron bar to strike him several more times. Authorities say the juvenile had noticeable injuries from the alleged assault.
Online court documents say Edgar has been charged with three counts of a Class D Felony for Abuse or Neglect of a Child- No Sexual Contact; and three counts of an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Bond has been fixed at $25,000 cash or surety.
Edgar appeared via video in custody and was arraigned on Thursday, January 24. His cause has been continued for a counsel-status hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
