Two Sedalia residents are facing multiple felony charges after the execution of a search warrant allegedly revealed multiple drug-related items at a residence in the 1400 block of South Stewart Avenue on January 25.
A probable-cause statement says authorities uncovered two syringes containing a dark liquid in a nightstand in close proximity of 29-year-old Laura Martin. She also allegedly was found to be in possession of controlled pills. Martin’s child also reportedly was present when in the home. Authorities also said they found 51-year-old Doug Burlingame to be in possession of 11.1 grams of methamphetamine; and digital scales, plastic baggies and used syringes were in his bedroom.
Online court documents say Martin has been charged with four counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Burlingame with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Burlingame also has been charged with a Class C Felony and Martin with a Class D Felony for Endangering the Welfare of a Child Involving Drugs in the First Degree; and each a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond for Burlingame has been set at $25,000 and for Martin at $10,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for each of the accused is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
