An Odessa woman who allegedly pulled a knife and threatened persons with it on Tuesday, January 29, has been charged with a felony.
A probable-cause statement says a person in the residence on Kite Road alleges that Catherine May Burns and her boyfriend had been arguing, and Burns pulled a knife and threatened her boyfriend and others in the residence. Lafayette County deputies also reportedly witnessed Burns hit her boyfriend as he entered the residence once they were on the scene.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Burns has been charged with a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; and an assault-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for Burns is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
