A traffic stop on I-70 on Wednesday, January 30, led to a felony drug charge being filed against a Moab, Utah, resident for allegedly transporting illegal drugs through Saline County.
A probable-cause statement says during a probable-cause search of the vehicle, authorities say they found approximately 22 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, weighing approximately one pound each in the rear cargo area. Mason Konane reportedly admitted he was being paid approximately $4,500 to transport the marijuana to Vermont.
Online court documents say 33-year-old Konane has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Bond has been fixed at $25,000 cash or surety.
Konane is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, at Saline County Circuit Court.
