Despite the temperatures plummeting late in the month, the average high at the KMMO studio in Marshall was above freezing for the month of January.
According to statistics supplied by the National Weather Service, the average high was 36.5 degrees. The average low was 20.8 degrees. The high was 65 degrees on January 8. And the low of minus-8 degrees was recorded on January 30 and 31.
As for precipitation, 10.3 inches of snow fell in Marshall during the 31-day month. Most of the snowfall came on two days- 7-1/2 inches on January 12 and 2-1/2 inches on January 13.
