Some damaging winter storms have hit the Marshall area over the last few weeks.
In order to help clean up the mess- including tree limbs and brush- Marshall Municipal Services’ crews will be picking up any of the fallen debris you can get curbside for free, according to Municipal Services’ Director Bill Anderson. He does ask, however, that you not mix the brush with any trash you might put curbside.

Anderson says if it’s a long limb, it needs to be lying about two to three feet behind and parallel with the curb. He says that will make it much easier for the crews to get everything picked up in a timely manner. He also wants residents to be aware and not place the brush close to a mailbox or sign.

According to a release from Municipal Services, the brush will be picked up between Monday, February 4, and Thursday, February 14, on the resident’s regular yard-waste day. Anderson says the hope is Mother Nature will cooperate, and all of the brush can be picked up in the scheduled time frame. Otherwise, he said the situation will be reevaluated. He said if the weather doesn’t cooperate, some of the brush might need to be picked up during the annual spring citywide cleanup. Dates for that have not been determined at this time.
