Two Brookfield men face several felony charges for an alleged burglary incident involving drugs on Thursday, January 31, in Linn County.
According to a probable-cause statement, Brookfield Police officers responded to a report of a burglary at a residence in the 300 block of Sanford Street.
Officers located the suspect’s vehicle and spoke with occupants, 23-year-old Jacob Greenwood and 20-year-old Alex Trammell. During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly found a loaded handgun, an unloaded rife and about 10 grams of a white substance which tested positive for cocaine. Reportedly, Trammell admitted to authorities that the white powder was fake, but was trying to sell it to make money. Also, Greenwood admitted the rife found in the car was stolen.
Online court documents say each suspect has been charged with a Class B Felony for First-Degree Burglary. Greenwood also was charged with two Class D Felonies for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Receiving Stolen Property, and Trammell faces a Class B Felony for Trafficking Drugs or Attempting in First Degree. Bond for each has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for each subject is pending at Linn County Circuit Court.
