A court proceeding for a 55-year-old Marshall man who has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Joshua Charles Smith, of Marshall, on December 29, in Marshall, is scheduled to be held this week.
Online court documents say James Scott Miller has been charged with a Class A Felony for Second-Degree Murder and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. He originally posted $500,000 cash-only bond on January 2.
A warrant was issued for probation violation on January 23, and Miller was taken into custody on January 24.
A case review- including a review of bond conditions- is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 7; and Miller’s preliminary hearing is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 22, at Saline County Circuit Court.
