In order to avoid any damage being done to a shade structure that will be placed over a good portion of the all-inclusive playground at Indian Foothills Park, the Marshall Park Board considered removal of a tree during its meeting on Wednesday, February 6.
Parks and Recreation Equipment Supervisor Tim Rodgers said removal of the tree- which has been a problem for a while- would be a good idea.

The board approved a bid of $650 for the removal of the tree and the stump.
New Parks and Recreation Superintendent Chad Unterreiner says some of the equipment for the all-inclusive playground has been received. He said what he sees on the invoice is what the parks department is supposed to get.

The shade structure is estimated to cover 75 percent of the all-inclusive playground, which should be installed in the next few months. Unterreiner said the only expense the parks department will incur on the project is for the removal of the tree.
