A Higginsville teen was seriously injured in a traffic crash where his vehicle was stopped on a roadway in Jackson County on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Seth Beck, reportedly was involved in a prior crash and was stopped blocking the left lane of the roadway facing south. Another westbound vehicle, driven by 58-year-old David Pfannkuch, of Concordia, reportedly struck Beck’s vehicle on the driver’s side.
Beck was transported by E.M.S to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment of serious injuries. Pfannkuch reportedly was not injured.
The crash happened at about 4:30 a.m. on I-70, just east of Sni-A-Bar Creek.
