Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety for a Sedalia man who allegedly assaulted a woman and stole her cell phone on February 14.
A probable-cause statement says a woman alleges 30-year-old Alan Thomas Saxton took her phone and waved it around. After she got it back from him, she says he shoved her to the ground; threw her through the door of the residence, breaking the window; and wrestled her phone away from her again. A witness said he tried to stop the altercation, but was shoved down by Saxton, who then ran out of the residence.
Online court documents say a warrant has been issued and Saxton has been charged with a Class B Felony for Second-Degree Robbery; and a Class E Felony for Third-Degree Assault.
Saxton’s arraignment hearing was scheduled to be held on Friday, February 15, at Pettis County Circuit Court. No other information is available at this time.
