A Boonville man has been charged with a couple of felonies for allegedly assaulting a woman with a gun last year.
According to a report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, on August 13, a woman reported that Robert Warren Roberts had “pistol whipped” her- hitting her in the head with a gun- as she was sitting on a couch in a motor home in Wooldridge. The trooper says a search of the motor home and Roberts’ vehicles did not render a gun. However his report says evidence at the scene suggests the incident happened as the woman said- including broken glass on the ground; a bullet hole through the glass; cardboard that covered the window; and inside the motor home, the hole was evident through the blind and curtain.
According to online court documents, Roberts has been charged with a Class D Felony for Second-Degree Assault; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Roberts’ arraignment hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5.
