The Sedalia City Council renewed a contract with the Missouri Department of Corrections during its meeting on Tuesday, February 19.
City Administrator Kelvin Shaw details the renewal with the DOC in regards to inmates from Tipton Correctional Center and a work release program.

Shaw added the yearly agreement has been ongoing for the past five years and has been a lucrative for all parties involved.
In other business, Shaw said the council began discussing and preparing the city budget for the 2020 Fiscal Year.
