A 55-year-old La Monte man who has been charged with sex-related felonies involving a juvenile in Saline County a few months ago is due in court this week.
A probable-cause statement says Tommy Joe Hotsenpiller is alleged to have inappropriately touched a juvenile female on the night of November 30. During a forensic interview, the juvenile said the incident occurred at Hotsenpiller’s vehicle in the parking lot of Marshall High School. Hotsenpiller was a teacher in the Marshall Public School system who reportedly was terminated in October 2018 and allegedly was trespassing during the incident.
Online court documents say charges against Hotsenpiller were amended on February 13, 2019.
Now, he is facing a Class D Felony for Statutory Sodomy in the Second Degree; a Class E Felony for Sexual Contact with a Student; and a misdemeanor for trespassing. Hotsenpiller waived his formal arraignment on the amended complaint.
Hotsenpiller posted $25,000 cash bond on December 26.
Hotsenpiller’s next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, at Saline County Circuit Court.
