A Brookfield man has been formally charged with a felony for alleged inappropriate touching of a child which occurred sometime between August 2017 and April 2018 in Linn County.
A probable cause statement says Brookfield Police officers spoke with the juvenile victim during a forensic interview on February 13, 2019. The victim said 61-year-old Michael Dean Collins touched him inappropriately while watching TV in Collins’ bedroom. Reportedly, the victim was staying at Collins’ residence until he was placed into the custody of his father in April 2018.
Online court documents say Collins has been charged with a Class A Felony for Child Molestation in the First Degree. Bond has not been set.
Collins’ initial hearing is pending at Linn County Circuit Court.
