A Boonville resident who allegedly was trying to grow marijuana at a residence near a college has been charged with a felony in Cooper County.
A probable-cause statement says on February 5, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of West Street- within 2,000 feet of State Fair Community College- and say they found 18-year-old Treyvon Deanthony Korte to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana on his person and 12 juvenile marijuana plants in an aquarium in the basement where Korte resides.
According to online court documents, Korte has been charged with a Class B Felony for Manufacturing a Controlled Substance within 2,000 feet of a school or college. Bond has not been set yet.
An initial hearing for Korte is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
