A Salisbury man and his wife each have been charged with felonies for allegedly taking advantage of a victim by not returning property he let them borrow recently in Chariton County.
A probable-cause statement says the victim told Salisbury Police officers about a situation where Eddie and Holly Teckemeyer were allowed to use his debit card and truck to go to a local grocery store to buy him supplies on February 21. After numerous calls and texts sent to the suspects, the victim said he finally received a text message from Eddie Teckemeyer which stated Holly Teckemeyer was supposed to return his property. The victim added the suspects did not return with any of his property.
Reportedly, the suspects drove the victim’s vehicle to Columbia, where Eddie Teckemeyer was noticed on surveillance video at several businesses using the victim’s debit card for a total of over $1,200. During the investigation on February 23, the victim said he received a text message from Eddie Teckemeyer who said the victim’s truck was parked at a fast-food restaurant, but didn’t disclose a city. Later that day, authorities located the victim’s truck in Moberly.
Online court documents say Eddie Teckemeyer has been charged with two Class E Felonies for Financial Exploitation of an Elder or Disabled Person and Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Device; a Class D Felony for Stealing of $750 or More; and a misdemeanor for tampering with a motor vehicle. Bond has been set at $2,000 cash only. Holly Teckemeyer has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree with bond set at $5,000 cash only.
An initial hearing for each subject is pending at Chariton County Circuit Court.
