A Blue Springs man has been formally charged with felonies for an alleged burglary incident last year in Lafayette County.
A probable-cause statement says Lafayette County deputies spoke with the victim who reported several items were missing from a residence in the 1000 block of West Main Road in Odessa on September 1, 2018. The reported stolen items included a guitar and silverware worth approximately $1,000.
During the investigation, deputies located a backpack in a nearby field which contained some stolen items and personal property of 43-year-old Jamie Kelley. Kelley reportedly told deputies that the backpack was stolen from him a couple of month prior to the robbery. Reportedly, a witness noticed Kelley in the area before the reported robbery and named him the suspect after viewing several photos provided by law enforcement.
Online court documents say Kelley has been charged with two counts each of Class D Felonies for Second-Degree Burglary and Stealing of $750 or More. Bond has not been set yet.
Kelley’s initial hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
