A yearly project, which began in 2008, was given the green light by the MMU Board of Public Works to continue this year by starting the bid process during its meeting on Thursday, February 28.
Underground Facilities Director Grant Piper details this year’s plan of rehabbing sewer mains by using the cured-in-place-pipe replacement (CIPP) method.
Piper added the CIPP method reinforces sewer mains to extend its lifespan by at least 60 years.
In other business, Piper said an industrial-sized lawn mower is needed to replace two older mowers.
The board approved Piper’s motion to seek bids for the mower.
