A Sedalia man is facing a charge for being on an area school property without permission earlier this week.
According to a release from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday, February 27, the School Resource Officer received a call from the school security officer at Parkview Elementary School. The security officer reported that an unknown male subject- later identified as Erik M. Elkins- had entered the school unlawfully, was intercepted by the security officer and removed from the campus.
Elkins reportedly was located later that day and arrested.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and the prosecutor has charged Elkins with a Class B Misdemeanor for First-Degree Trespassing. Bond has been set at $2,500 cash or surety.
Elkins’ initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
